Share the Snaps
Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 18, 2026
Share the Snaps (“Share the Snaps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a service that lets people create private photo and video albums and invite others to contribute through a shared link or QR code. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we may collect your email address, authentication and account information, album names and settings, and your account’s storage usage. Guests may be able to view or contribute to an album without creating an account.
Photos, videos and album content
We store photos, videos and related information uploaded to Share the Snaps. This may include file names and types, upload dates and times, file sizes, album associations, optional contributor information, and technical metadata contained in an uploaded file. Depending on the content uploaded, photos and videos may include images of children, family members, event guests or other individuals.
Technical and usage information
When you use Share the Snaps, we and our service providers may automatically receive limited technical information such as your Internet Protocol address, browser and device type, operating system, pages or features used, access dates and times, and error, security and diagnostic logs.
Communications
If you contact us, we may retain your email address, message and other information you provide so we can respond and maintain support records.
2. How We Use Information
We may use collected information to create and manage accounts; store and display album content; allow invited guests to access and contribute to albums; enforce storage and upload limits; provide downloads and other album features; respond to support, privacy and removal requests; detect fraud, abuse, security threats and prohibited content; troubleshoot and improve the Service; comply with legal obligations; and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information or uploaded media.
3. Album Access and Sharing
Albums are intended to be private, but they may be accessible to anyone who has the album’s link, QR code and any required PIN. Album owners are responsible for deciding who receives access information. People with access may be able to view, upload or download album content depending on the album’s settings.
No online sharing method is completely private. Do not share album links, QR codes or PINs publicly unless you intend for the album to be broadly accessible.
4. Uploaded Content and Permission
You should only upload photos and videos that you have the right to share. By uploading content, you confirm that you have any permission reasonably necessary to share that content with the album owner and other participants. This is especially important when uploading content containing children or individuals who reasonably expect privacy.
If you believe content involving you or your child was uploaded without appropriate permission, contact us at admin@sharethesnaps.com and include enough information for us to locate the content.
5. Children’s Privacy
Share the Snaps is intended for use by adults and is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 may not create accounts or independently submit personal information through the Service.
Adults may upload family, school, sports or event media that includes children when they have the right or appropriate permission to do so. If we learn that a child under 13 directly created an account or submitted personal information without appropriate parental authorization, we may delete the account and associated information. A parent or legal guardian may contact us to request review or removal.
6. How We Share Information
We may share information with service providers that help us operate Share the Snaps, including providers of cloud hosting, database and media storage, authentication, email delivery, security, monitoring and technical support. These providers may process information only as needed to perform services for us and are subject to their own contractual and legal obligations.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process; protect users, the public or Share the Snaps; investigate fraud, abuse or security incidents; enforce our Terms; or complete a merger, acquisition, financing or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law.
7. Storage and Retention
During the free beta, albums are generally stored for up to 90 days, unless a different period is displayed for the album or account.
Content may be deleted when its retention period expires, the album owner deletes it, the account owner requests deletion, it violates our Terms, storage limits are exceeded, or the Service is discontinued. Users should keep their own original copies and download anything they want to preserve before an album expires.
Some limited information may remain temporarily in backups, security logs or records required for legal, fraud-prevention or operational purposes.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Share the Snaps may use cookies, browser storage and similar technologies necessary to keep users signed in, maintain secure sessions, remember preferences, protect accounts and albums, and provide essential website functionality. If optional analytics or advertising technologies are added later, this policy will be updated and any legally required choices will be provided.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect account information and uploaded content. However, no website, storage system or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting their login credentials, album links and PINs and for promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.
10. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including rights to request access, correction or deletion; request removal of uploaded content; receive information about how your data is used; or withdraw consent when processing is based on consent.
To make a request, email admin@sharethesnaps.com. We may need to verify your identity or relationship to the relevant account, album or content.
11. California Privacy Information
California residents may have privacy rights under applicable California law. Share the Snaps does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may contact us to request information, correction or deletion. We will not discriminate against you for making a valid privacy request.
Some California privacy laws apply only to businesses that meet particular legal thresholds. Nothing in this section is intended to provide rights not otherwise required by applicable law.
12. Third-Party Links
Share the Snaps may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security or content of those third parties.
13. Service Changes or Business Transfers
If Share the Snaps is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale, reorganization or transfer of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any successor will remain responsible for handling information in accordance with applicable law and the privacy commitments in effect at the time of transfer.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Share the Snaps develops. When changes are made, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice when a change materially affects how personal information or uploaded content is handled.
