How to create a QR code photo album for an event

A QR code gives guests a quick way to open your album at a party, wedding or team event. The code opens the album link; guests still enter the PIN to view or upload.

Create the album

Sign in to Share the Snaps, choose an album name guests will recognize and set a 4–8 digit PIN. Open the new album to find its sharing controls.

  1. Tap the QR code button in the album header.
  2. Download the QR image.
  3. Put the image on a sign, invitation or team message.

Give invited guests the PIN

The QR image contains the album link, not its PIN. Share the PIN separately with the people you want to invite. A person needs both to open the gallery.

On a printed sign, you can say “Scan to add photos” and tell invited guests where to get the PIN. This avoids putting the PIN on a sign that anyone might photograph.

Try it before the event

Scan the code from another phone, enter the PIN and try adding one photo. Then check that it appears in the album and that the download works. Guests can use a phone browser without installing an app or making an account.

Free beta albums last 90 days, with a 300 MB per-file upload limit and 2 GB total storage per account. Download the album before its expiration date.

A simple place to start

The QR code handles the link; the separately shared PIN controls who gets into the album.
